Global ERP reaches the Middle East

Samsung SDS claims Bizentro is the first enterprise resource planning service in the region to target SMEs.

Samsung SDS has announced the launch of its Bizentro enterprise resource planning (ERP) service across the Middle East. Bizentro, which is aimed at SMEs, has actually been sold globally since 1998 – but Samsung SDS says that the latest rollout is evidence of its commitment to the region.

John Crosbie, Samsung SDS’ director of sales for ERP, EMEA, claimed that the service could be tailored according to client, with a variety of modules available ranging from sales and inventory to production and accounts.

He said: “We have met with over twenty organisations that will be marketing Bizentro ERP across the Middle East region. These are established technology resellers who know the market and understand the needs of the local customer. Partner that with Samsung SDS’ Bizentro ERP solution, which has a proven and globally successful implementation, and we see something very exciting happening.”

Crosbie claimed that existing players in the Middle East’s ERP market are targeting very large organisations that would need to spend in excess of $1m to implement their ERP packages. The Bizentro ERP solution from Samsung SDS is suitable for smaller companies with between 10 and 300 users and the entry price is under $40,000.

Crosbie added: "It is clear that there are many, many more companies whose size and technology expenditure are not met with effective solutions from the present ERP packages. We have launched Bizentro to serve those customers and offer them all the advantages that presently only very large organisations with sizable IT budgets could afford.”
