Valuevad looks to expand

Valuevad has unveiled expansion plans, as it looks to cash in on a predicted 300% growth in demand for document management systems over the next four years. It also announced 10 scholarships for UAE government employees.

Valuevad has unveiled ambitious expansion plans, as it looks to cash in on a predicted 300% growth in demand for document management systems over the next four years. The company also announced a scholarship programme for UAE nationals, which will enable 10 government employees to study for the Certified Document Imaging Architect (CDIA) certificate.

The document imaging company plans to open offices in Egypt and Kuwait, as well as two offices in Saudi Arabia to help support its resellers in these countries. There is increasing demand for document imaging technology in the region, as governments are now providing the legal framework needed for it. In particular, regional courts are beginning to recognise digital images of documents as being legally valid, which means that companies can throw away the original paper documents and thereby save on storage costs.

Furthermore, tension in the region is also making companies realise the need for digital back ups of their documents. “What happens if a bank is bombed and all the cheques are destroyed?” asks Lars Bogvad Jeppesen, managing director, Valuevad.

To further boost demand in the region, the company is to give scholarships to 10 UAE nationals working in the government sector. The region’s e-government projects have been a driven for the adoption of document management systems, and the company believes that certifying the officials in charge will make these projects more successful and effective.
