Ajmal drives sales through revamped web site

The web site — www.ajmalperfumes.com — offers visitors a range of services including fragrances research notes and order tracking.

Ajmal Perfumes is claiming a 15% boost in online sales as a result of its revamped web site. The web site — www.ajmalperfumes.com — offers customers a range of services including fragrances research notes, online order tracking and a ‘frequently asked questions’ section.

The majority of site visitors are logging on from Saudi Arabia, but the business to consumer (B2C) site also has regular hits from North America, Europe and Asia. On average, customers of the site spend US$260 with each sale.

“The new version we launched this year has proved to be highly popular among Arab and international users, even more than was initially anticipated. We expect site visits and sales to rise as users take advantage of the online ordering facility,” says Nazir Ajmal, marketing director, Ajmal Perfumes.

“Demand for oriental fragrances is growing among western users. The internet offers us the most effective medium to take our products to consumers across the world. We have gained a significant number of clients from North America and Europe who are interested in purchasing our fragrances, ” adds Ajmal.

The perfume manufacturer initially launched its web site in December 2000. The upgraded site went live at the start of 2002, and has since registered a 35% increase in the number of hits.
