Comtrust, the e-business division of Etisalat has announced that it has signed IAL Container Lines to use its newly opened data centre in Dubai for its IT infrastructure needs.
IAL will run its Lotus domino messaging and workflow software, its Web server and its Websphere application DB2 at the centre. The company ships containers to over 40 different locations but manages its operations from Dubai. That was an important factor in its decision to use a data centre in the same city but the company was impressed by Comtrust’s offering which made them choose that option.
TVN Kutty, managing director of IAL, said: “In searching for an eHosting partner, security and reliability were high on our list of priorities. It became evident very quickly, that the Comtrust Professional Services team were both highly qualified and genuinely interested in our business. The facilities they offer are of the highest quality, with the added security of being in the locality, allowing us to visit our systems at any time.”
“Not only have we benefited from reducing costs associated with developing and running an IT department, but we have also bought into an enormous resource of knowledge and expertise. With our applications now being managed by the Comtrust team, we can concentrate on revenue generating opportunities within our own business,” he continued.
Omran Sultan Al Owais, general manager, Comtrust commented: “We are delighted to announce IAL Container Line as the latest customer to our increasingly popular range of eHosting services. This is further endorsement of our world-class facilities and experience in bringing unrivalled eHosting offerings to organisations in the Middle East. IAL have recognized the benefits of outsourcing their IT applications to Comtrust, where they will be efficiently managed in a secure and reliable environment."
