Bad Skaters hack FNC sites

A group of hackers, called the ‘Bad Skaters’, hacked into the official web sites of the Federal National Council (FNC) yesterday morning.

The attack, during which the hackers distorted the homepage by posting phrases such as ‘Crazy Girl’ and ‘Red Tiger’, disrupted operations for approximately two hours.

Abdullah Al Shuwaikh, an IT expert at Sharjah Municipality, discovered the damage caused to the two sites — www.almajles.gov.ae and www.uaemajles.com at around 9.30 a.m.

The Municipality’s technology team then sprang into action and cut off further hacks before restoring the two sites to their former glory.

"The web site was restored by re-uploading it from the back-up copy that is usually preserved for contingency purposes," Al Rumaithy told today’s Khaleej Times.
