Samsung SDS hits Middle East market
Korea’s largest global IT service provider, Samsung SDS, is targeting the Middle East with its smart card technology. Initially, the company will be targeting the region’s vertical markets.<br>
Korea’s largest global IT service provider, Samsung SDS, is targeting the Middle East with its smart card technology. Customisable for electronic cash, e-commerce, information security, healthcare, transportation and multi-purpose card applications, the company’s smart card technology will initially be sold into the region’s vertical markets.
To support its sales drive, the vendor has opened a regional office at Dubai Internet City (DIC) and is in the process of employing regional staff.
“We have high aspirations for the Middle East region and look forward to having partnerships with leaders in the IT industry so we can make a quick penetration to the market with a good understanding of the local market to support our world wide, first class products,” says GB Oh, president of Samsung SDS EMEA.
According to Essam Magdy, sales manager for the Middle East region with or Samsung SDS expanded on the companies plans, local systems integrators and resellers will be key to the company’s long-term success.
“To introduce these globally established products into the region we will be spending a considerable amount of time searching for, training and forming long term business relationships with leading local Systems Integrators and Value Added Resellers who understand technology and the needs of the local market,” he says.
