FSC unveils redesigned Lifebook E series

FSC redesigns Lifebook E series to cater to mobile business users; incorporates additional features and wireless connectivity.

The redesigned Lifebook E Series Notebook from Fujitsu Siemens Computers is lighter, slimmer and more powerful than its predecessor. Powered by the latest Intel Mobile Pentium 4-M processor with SpeedStep technology, it incorporates all the features and performance of a desktop PC and caters to the high-end mobile business user as well.

“Many of the features found in the new laptop have been specially created keeping in mind the needs of the high end mobile business professional,” commented Colin Britto, sales manager, Large Enterprise, FSC. “The speed, size and connectivity of the Lifebook E Series ensure that this new notebook is all set to be the corporate workhorse.”

Features on the Lifebook E include faster 3D acceleration with superior video editing capability, smooth DVD playback, integrated TV-out and the ability to run graphics-intensive applications. The S-video out port provides easy connection to projectors or standard TV sets. Available in two models, the Lifebook E 7010 has a 14.1-inch display while the Lifebook E 7110 comes with 15.1” display.

For simple cable management and a quick access to desktop resources, the Lifebook E-series offers a newly-designed slim port replicator. The notebook’s modular bay can hold a second hard disk of up to 40 GB, a DVD-ROM drive, CD-RW, combo drive or it can accept a second battery. For fast access to digital camcorders, scanners and other external devices, a FireWire port is integrated. The new S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface) port to transfer digital audio data between CD or DVD players and amplifiers is another attraction while the wireless LAN is available as a built-to-order option.

“The Lifebook E series carries a unique security panel that allows pre-boot security thus setting at rest all security concerns of the mobile professional,” said Britto. “The contents of the hard disk are saved with a dual password and since all necessary components for SmartCard usage are already integrated into the notebook, there is no need for an external SmartCard reader.” Models in this series come preloaded with MS Windows XP Professional or MS Windows 2000.
