World Cup lives on for Samsung winner

Though the ultimate football tournament has drawn to a temporary close, the party goes on for winners of Samsung's online competition.

Samsung Electronics has announced the winners of its online football promotion. The event, which kicked-off in early May, asked would-be pundits to predict the winning team at the World Cup tournament being played in South Korea and Japan.

Samsung chose six lucky winners through a draw of 2900 entries received. The grand prize of the competition was the recently launched Samsung 62-inch projection TV, which was won by Mr. Amr S from Egypt.

Five runners-up each received a rather cute SGH-T100 colour LCD mobile phone.

Mr. B. W. Lee, Vice President, Samsung Electronics Middle East & Africa Headquarters (MEA HQ) said, “ The response to our online football promotion was truly overwhelming and clearly shows how much our products are liked by consumers in the region. To sustain consumer enthusiasm we have decided to host similar online promotions on a monthly basis.” Watch this space.
