Dubai Chamber of Commerce plans ArabDox rollout
Sakhr's document management system will provide an integrated data management, archive and retrieval functionality
Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) is bringing its paper processes under control with plans to deploy Sakhr’s ArabDox. When implemented, the document management system will provide the chamber with data management, archive and retrieval functionality.
“The Dubai Chamber has striven to establish itself as a modern establishment, eager to embrace development and change,” says Abdul Rahman Al Mutaiwee, director general, DCCI.
“The chamber must remain at the forefront of this change. Therefore it was imperative to obtain the latest technologies and implement efficient work cycles to provide our members and clients with a realistic example to follow for their daily administrative routines,” he adds.
DCCI’s choice to rollout ArabDox is a ‘natural extension’ of the ongoing e-government work within the emirate, says Al Mutaiwee.
DCCI only opted for ArabDox after an extensive market survey. “We are pleased that after a thorough study of the suitability of different solutions available [DCCI] chose Sakhr technologies,” says Ziad Al Rayyis, sales & marketing manager for Sakhr Dubai.
ArabDox offers document management functionality based on a number of proprietary NLP technologies, including Arabic OCR, Keyword Extractor and Arabic search. The software supports all ‘popular’ file formats and ODBC, which enables users to access different databases via the Web or corporate intranet.
ArabDox also relies on Sakhr’s Idrisi search engine that enables English and Arabic search functionality through the incorporation of Arabic grammatical rules and a large database of Arabic terms.
