LaCie launches PocketDrives in the Middle East
LaCie has launched its range of portable external hard drives, called PocketDrive, in the region, through distributors ProTechnology
French storage technology specialists LaCie has announced the launch of its PocketDrive line in the Middle East. The PocketDrive, a 60GB small form factor external hard drive, will be available through master distributor PRO TECHnology.
The PocketDrive weighs less than one pound, and measures 3.5x5.75x1”, but has a 60GB capacity, enough to store up to twenty hours of video or seventy hours of CD-quality audio. The drive supports both USB and FireWire for hot swappable plug and play connectivity.
“Our high-capacity PocketDrives are ideal for storing, exchanging and editing large files such as digital video; and our new FireWire-to-IDE bridge eliminates quality and video frame loss,” explained Scott Phillips, president of LaCie. “Because they're faster than most internal drives, they can speed-up drive-intensive applications such as graphics, music-editing, audio/video, office application or desktop publishing. In addition, the LaCie PocketDrives feature the brand new Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) motor technology. This reduces the drives' noise level by 20%, making them some of the quietest external drives on the market today.”
Jamal Maraqa, managing director of PRO TECHnology commented: “LaCie presents the ideal solution by offering a combination of high capacity, mobility and convenience. PocketDrives have quickly become very popular among content developers, illustrators, audio/video professionals and people on-the-go, and we are glad to present these solutions in the Middle East with full after-sales support.”
