According to industry sources, Dow Jones Newswires is scaling down its presence in Europe, the Middle East and Africa(EMEA).

Dow Jones Newswires is scaling down its sales and marketing presence in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), industry sources say.

As a result of the company’s restructuring in the EMEA region, the Dubai, Madrid and Stockholm offices are closing down their sales operations, the source told ITP.net.

The move has made three Dubai employees redundant.

The company’s decision is part of a global restructuring strategy, said the source, adding that the company is appointing an agent in Dubai to take over sales and support work.

Founded in 1882, Dow Jones Newswires has more than 770 real-time editors and reporters, part of Dow Jones & Company's network of nearly 1,700 business and financial journalists
