DIC to get dedicated support from Microsoft

Microsoft and Dubai Internet City (DIC) have announced a partnership that will ensure DIC support technicians have access to the latest technologies from Microsoft and utilise them to maximum effect.

Microsoft and Dubai Internet City (DIC) have announced a partnership that will ensure DIC support technicians have access to the latest technologies from Microsoft and utilise them to maximum effect.

The support from Microsoft will consist of an engineer who will pre-empt problems like system bottlenecks to maintain mission critical applications. DIC will also have access to the latest technical information from Redmond in the form of round table discussions and downloadable hot-fixes as well as the usual services that all Microsoft customers receive.

“Microsoft’s wealth of experience and commitment to facilitating knowledge transfer were critical to our demanding requirements. Today, the technical teams from Microsoft and DIC are working in close collaboration to lay the foundation of a strong IT support structure within the Technology, E-commerce and Media Zone (TECOM),” said Dr. Omar Bin Sulaiman, CEO of DIC.

Dr. Sulaiman emphasised that the pace of change and the increasing dynamism of the ‘IT landscape’ means the need to have the latest technologies is ever greater. He also mentioned the responsibility that TECOM has as the main generator of Sheikh Mohammed’s vision to have a strong national IT infrastructure.

“Forging strategic partnerships with industry leaders such as Microsoft forms part of this roadmap and through this partnership, we look forward to maximising the use of its technologies with TECOM,” Dr. Sulaiman concluded.
