Emirates Holdings implements management solution

Emirates Holdings has streamlined its management processes with the deployment of Microsoft’s Great Plains eEnterprise business management solution. The holdings group, which has a diverse range of business interests, including foodstuffs, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, and telecommunications, implemented the solution with support from Microsoft Great Plains’ local partner, Mideast Data Systems (MDS).
With an inventory totaling over 1.6 million electronic records, Emirates Holdings required a solution that was user friendly, flexible, customisable and capable of forming a financial decision-making base.
“Emirates Holdings is an enormous group, with diversified business interests geographically-spread across great distances, so reliability was our first concern when implementing a wide-area network (WAN) application for our staff of more than 40 concurrent users,” said Walid Chatila, director of finance and administration with Abu Dhabi-based Emirates Holdings.
“With more than 60,000 installations across the world, the Microsoft Great Plains eEnterprise name carries a reputation for excellence. And, now, Emirates Holdings can be counted among that impressive list of global accounts, as we find that the solution continues to meet even our most challenging financial and accounting demands,” added Chatila.
“MDS provides business solutions, not IT solutions,” said Hazem Ahmed, division manager, MDS. “Emirates Holdings is a solid Microsoft Great Plains customer because of the advantages that its applications have provided to the company’s management team, as well as for its ease-of-use and flexibility in comparison to other IT solutions on the market,” added Ahmed.
