Compaq and Schlumberger have announced their intention to extend their co-operation with an agreement to develop IT solutions worldwide.
Compaq and Schlumberger have announced their intention to extend their co-operation with an agreement to develop IT solutions worldwide. The two companies have already worked together for the past ten years in the oil & gas sector, and have a large number of customers in telecommunications, financial services and utilities, but the agreement is intended to develop offerings for these and other markets.
“Compaq’s solutions strategy is gaining momentum as we work with partners like Schlumberger to create solutions meeting industry-specific needs,” said Peter Blackmore, Compaq executive vice president, Worldwide Sales and Service. “Schlumberger offers deep insight into many industries of mutual interest and offers world class solutions that integrate seamlessly with Compaq’s technology platforms and service expertise. The alliance of these two great companies will offer global enterprises effective solutions with superb economy of deployment.”
The two companies already share a large installed customer base, but are now aiming to release more solutions for sectors such as transport, energy and utilities and the public sector.
