New training course launched in UAE
A new course to train national women to work in the broadcast industry has been launched by Dubai's Zayed University and The Arabian Radio Network.
Dubai’s Zayed University and The Arabian Radio Network (ARN) have agreed to work together to train national women for careers in broadcasting.
ARN will train a group of senior communication students from Zayed University’s College of Communication and Media Sciences in its Dubai Media City studios each semester.
Trainees will spend a total of eight weeks in the IT production, programming, sales and marketing and news departments of Al Arabiya, ARN’s first radio station.
“By giving students the opportunity to work during an internship programme, ARN is developing a pool of future employees that will assist its growth and development,” said Dr Hanif Hassan, dean of Zayed University.
“ARN will benefit in the long run as it adds more nationals to its workforce, and Zayed University students benefit immediately from this training.”
Abdul Lati Al Sayegh, ARN’s director, was equally excited at the deal. “Al Arabiya welcomes the idea of working with Zayed University in order to put together all their professional capabilities and facilities to build a firm establishment for Dubai’s future ambitious generation in the mass communication and media world,” he said.
