Four Seasons the luxury hotel group has announced that the 200-room Four Seasons Resort at Sharm El Sheikh will open May 15, 2002. The new hotel will be the first Four Seasons resort located at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, overlooking the Red Sea.

"Sharm El Sheikh is an exciting destination, offering a mix of discovery and tranquillity," said Isadore Sharp, Chairman and CEO, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. "The Resort has the feel of an ancient village, yet offers modern diversions such as world-class spa facilities, fine dining and diving ... the perfect complement to a stay at our Hotel in Cairo."

Several pools, a 5,500-square-foot Spa and Wellness Centre, five restaurants featuring flavours from around the world, secluded beaches and a private pier make Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh a destination unto itself.

Events and activities of all descriptions can be accommodated easily in the 21,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.

Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence opened in May 2000.

In addition to Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh the group will open hotels in Amman, and Riyadh later this year. The company's growing portfolio now includes 55 hotels in 25 countries around the world.
