Etisalat data centres nearly complete

Expansion of Etisalat's data centres in Abu Dhabi and Dubai is almost finished.

Etisalat has nearly finished expanding its data centres in Abu Dhabi and Dubai according to a report in today’s Gulf News. The new enlarged facilities will be used to host IP-based services for mobile and fixed networks.

Organisations throughout the region will be able to have all or part of their IT requirements managed from within the centre. As Etisalat is migrating the data centre to an IP-based infrastructure, it will be able to offer a range of services including dedicated server hosting, managed security services, technical operations outsourcing and co-location to new and existing clients.

Nasser Salim, senior manager, Etisalat Internet & e-solutions, told Gulf News that “businesses of all types and sizes face increased pressure to incorporate e-business initiatives into their business strategies.”

“Many of these companies, lacking the ability to procure, implement and manage complex IT infrastructures, prefer to outsource these operations. This allows them to concentrate their efforts on their core competencies,” he added.
