AMS Neve warmed up for the forthcoming NAB 2002 in Las Vegas by announcing the sale of its renowned DFC console to Pinewood Studio’s for the facility’s Theatre One. The unit will replace the SL5000M console currently in use there.

In fact the console has been installed at Pinewood for some months, and has already been used for audio mixing on a number of upcoming cinema releases. Final Curtain and The Parole Officer have both been produced using the DFC console, as has controversial film Killing Me Softly.

Head of sound Graham Hartstone commented: “AMS Neve has a long history of producing digital consoles. Our experience with the Logic 2, plus the expansion of the operating surface to accommodate feature film mixing made the DFC the obvious choice.”

He continued: “The infinite repeatability of fully automated mixing allows for serious attention to be paid to the detail of a mix, and retains maximum separation of the individual elements for fine tuning.”
