Two IT Conferences in Qatar

The Qatar International Hi-Tec 2002 exhibition and the Doha e-business@gulf.com conference both open next week.

Next week sees the start of the Qatar International Hi-Tec 2002 exhibition and the Doha e-business@gulf.com conference. Running simultaneously, the events have been designed to help the region’s IT firms promote their goods and services, as well as address the future of e-commerce in Qatar.

Hi-Tec 2002 will be attended by the region’s IT market leaders, such as Microsoft, IBM, Oracle and a host of local solution providers such as BSA and ABA Technological Solutions. A number of companies from the telecommunications, security, office equipment and electronics sectors will also be in attendance.

The e-business@gulf.com conference will focus on business issues in Qatar, especially e-commerce. The government will also be taking part in discussions on the need for high-speed information within the country for both the private and public sector.

“The State of Qatar is playing an increasingly important role in the world’s economic community. These conferences will help the large group of IT companies who have sprung up in various areas of Doha sell their products within the region,” say the conferences’ organisers

The conferences are being held between at the Qatar International Exhibition Centre from March 26 to 29.
