Aregon to acquire Aspidex Technologies

Aregon.com, the Jordan based B2B company is to acquire Aspidex Technologies.

Aregon.com, the Jordan based B2B company founded by Aramex and Citibank, is to acquire Aspidex Technologies, a subsidiary of Rasmala Group.

Sources close to the deal would not disclose the details of the agreement, as it has not been made public yet, but they confirm the acquisition will be taking place in the very near future.

Aregon.com, which uses Commerce One technology, surfaced in October 2001. The company formed strategic alliances to provide what it says are ‘best-of-breed’ services. “From the very early stages of the project, our core competencies in logistics and the supply chain were the main drivers of our e-commerce strategy,” Hazem Malhas, CEO of Aregon, told Arabian Business magazine in an interview in February 2002.

Aspidex Technologies is a specialised e-Banking technology solutions provider that enables banks and financial institutions in the Middle East, and surrounding areas to meet the increasing demand of their customers for online banking services.
