Knowledge Village has signed Synergy Professional Services as its first tenant. Synergy is mainly a training and e-learning company which is why both parties believe it fits with the stated aim of Knowledge Village: “to create a community that will develop the region’s knowledge workforce and catalyse economic growth”.
According to Ahmed Bin Byat, CEO of Dubai Internet City (DIC), Knowledge Village will work by using the same concept as DIC and Dubai Media City (DMC), that is to locate similar companies together to facilitate the sharing of ideas and knowledge.
“In today’s economy the key to our progresss is the development of knowledge capital. Synergy is one of a number of organisations that will help to create a true learning community at Knowledge Village,” said Bin Byat.
Synergy has more than 100 certified professionals across six countries in the region and trains people on Cisco, Microsoft, and Oracle products. It aims to leverage this expertise to get into the consulting and technical services markets and expand revenues dramatically by 2005. “Synergy Professional Services has moved quickly to build a solid, pan-Arab services organisation since its formation last year. Unifying the organisation under a strong corporate identity and opening our headquarters in Knowledge Village are tow milestones marking our progress,” said Melad Ghabrial, president and CEO of Synergy.
“Synergy is a strategic fit with the international objectives of Knowledge Village and our strong regional experience, in-house technology expertise and partnerships with information and communications technology (ICT) leaders position us to help vendors and user organisations address regional OCT requirements,” added Ghabrial.
The process of building dedicated buildings for Knowledge Village is underway but some way from completion. However, Synergy says its Web site will go live in early March and more features will come online as the necessary technology is moved into its lab facilities which are at present in DIC.
