Etisalat launches m-Net GPRS

Etisalat has announced the launch of its m-Net GPRS service for all post-paid subscribers. Service is currently only available in metropolitan areas but is set to expand rapidly.

Etisalat has announced the launch of its m-Net GPRS service for all post-paid GSM mobile subscribers. The service is expected to be available to pre-paid subscribers sometime in the second half of the year. The service can be accessed from all metropolitan areas within the UAE with coverage expanding daily.

m-Net GPRS is priced very attractively to allow people to surf the net when they are mobile. Monthly rental charges will be Dhs. 30, which includes up to 2Mb of data transfer. Further data transfers will be charged at 1 fils per kilobyte.

As an added incentive to try the new service, Etisalat is running an introductory offer for all new subscribers who subscribe to the service between January 8 and February 28. This offer provides them with free connection and free first month’s rental.

“With m-Net GPRS you will always be online which means you only pay for the data that you send or receive rather than the time spent connected,” commented Mohammed Al Fahim, executive vice president marketing, Etisalat. “With quicker and easier connection this means better value for money for our customers. In your office or on the road, Etisalat’s m-Net GPRS solution connects your mobile, Pocket PC or Laptop to the mobile internet.

“With the demand for wireless data increasing rapidly, Etisalat is committed to providing the latest advances in technology to its customers,” added Al Fahim. “First we brought you our WAP services and now we are leading the way with the introduction of our m-Net GPRS service to give mobile users an even better mobile internet experience. This is the latest step on Etisalat’s progression towards Third Generation or 3G mobile technology.”
