Sigma Paints completes SR 1 million Sage ERP rollout
Sigma Paints has rolled out Sage enterprise resource planning (ERP) to unify its business processes and reduce its operating costs.
Sigma Paints has rolled out Sage enterprise resource planning (ERP) to manage its multi-site organisation. In a deal valued at over SR1 million, the company deployed over 20 modules to 55-users in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman and Qatar.
The integrated package unifies the Sigma Paints’ business processes and enhances operational efficiency.
“Sage ERP has helped improve visibility and information flow across our various offices resulting in higher levels of service to customers,” said Ahmed Al-Quraihi, IT Manager of Sigma Paints.
“The powerful reporting system has also enhanced the quality of the decision-making process with Sigma,” he added.
The four month long implementation was conducted by Sage’ enterprise partner, Algosaibi Information Systems. Sage’s manufacturing suite is also being implemented at Sigma’s factories in Dammam and Abu Dhabi.
Sigma Paints, a joint venture company with the world’s fifth largest paint company, SigmaKalon Group, also assessed SAP as a possible ERP solution. However, after a market study, it became clear SAP would not fit the company’s business requirements.
“Although SigmaKalon is using SAP in other locations, for the Middle East, we chose Sage ahead of SAP because it best suited our functional requirements,” said Jo Paffen, general manager of Sigma Paints Saudi Arabia and area director for SigmaKalon for the Middle East.
“We also wanted a vendor that had a proven track record and strong local presence. TotalFinaElf, our parent company, have recently implemented Sage in Dubai in their Lubricant operation and are extremely happy,” he added.
