Acer has signed an agreement with Intel to promote Intel’s LAN solutions in Acer’s range of branded PCs, notebooks and servers.
“With this agreement, Acer’s customers will enjoy benefits of Intel’s SingleDriver technology in Acer’s Management Adapters”, said Jim Wong, president of Acer’s IT product business group.
“This technology will immediately be offered to the business community in this region and Acer is pleased that this technologically advanced support service will benefit businesses in this region at the same time as the rest of the world,” said Eric Tien, managing director of Acer Computer Middle East.
The Intel SingleDriver enables different types of network adapters to be added or removed without having to locate and install new drivers and is compatible with any installed Acer products using Intel Fast Ethernet adapters.
“These adapters are compatible with all major network operating systems, giving users more options when purchasing Acer products,” said Mr. Wong. Other than the Veriton range, the Acer TravelMate notebook will also be shipped with the Intel 82559 Fast Ethernet Controller for users to be able to connect any time in LAN environment.
