ARAMEX signs EXE technologies licence agreement

ARAMEX International Limited, the international express and freight-forwarding specialists in the Middle East and Indian Sub-Continent, has signed a software license agreement with EXE Technologies Incorporated.

ARAMEX International Limited, the international express and freight-forwarding specialists in the Middle East and Indian Sub-Continent, has signed a software license agreement with EXE Technologies Incorporated.

The latest supply chain execution software, known as EXE EXceed, will be installed at ARAMEX logistics facilities in Jebel Ali, in the UAE, and Jordan, and will enable ARAMEX to meet the strategic warehousing and distribution requirements of customers more effectively.

EXE EXceed software is designed to execute warehousing and distribution systems in both eCommerce and traditional business environments. The company is evolving from warehouse management toward supply chain execution. The vendor's EXceed software suite is still anchored by its warehouse management system, but it has added transportation execution management and yard, dock and labor management modules to round out its suite. Its eventual goal: virtual inventory management that goes beyond warehouse walls. In addition, EXE has partnered with supply-chain planning companies such as i2 to "close the loop" in the supply-chain.

By installing the software in its logistics and service facilities in Jebel Ali and Jordan, ARAMEX will further streamline the management and flow of inventory information along the supply chain. "This software will put ARAMEX in a prime position to offer our customers the most effective third-party logistics solutions available," said Fadi Ghandour, President and CEO of ARAMEX International.

Continued Ghandour: "The use of EXE technology will further strengthen the efficiency of our business, reinforcing customer loyalty and satisfaction. "Aramex will benefit from the EXE support network that spans Europe, North America, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, providing global servicing and assistance to its customers throughout the year.

In addition, the agreement ensures that ARAMEX facilities will benefit from the support of local EXE software implementation specialists, Span Trading Est., in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Lebanon and Qatar. Nicholas Habib, General Manager of EXE's operations in the Middle East, commented: "We are delighted to be working with ARAMEX on this important contract. Their decision to choose EXE reflects the leading position EXceed enjoys in the 3PL marketplace and the acknowledged strength of EXE Technologies and Span Trading in the Middle East region."
