Banzai hilarity for Chyron

Chyron Corporation announced on November 12 that its interactive technology is to be used for the production of crazy Japanese-style gameshow Banzai. The show, produced in the UK by Channel Four, is entering its second series, and the interactive content will be produced using Chyron’s Digital Content Controller [DCC].
Part of the US company’s Compass broadcast automation range, DCC Interactive allows, among other things, the insertion of on-screen graphics and triggers, and ensures that iTV replays are synchronised with the broadcast.
“Banzai is an excellent example of how synchronous interactivity can enhance the viewing experience,” commented David Ward, Chyron vice president business development.
Industry sources claim that Banzai, currently aired on Channel Four’s pay-TV venture E4, is soon to come to the Middle East, although question marks remain over its suitability.
