Oracle rages against the war on complexity

Oracle Middle East hopes to show the region's businesses how to win the 'war on complexity' during Gitex 2001.

Oracle Middle East hopes to show the region's businesses how to win the 'war on complexity' during Gitex 2001.

The enterprise software player intends to take the headache out of implementing the latest e-business technologies through its integrated and complete suite of Internet-based applications, in conjunction with its database platform.

"Companies in the Middle East have a simple choice — they can either spend their money, time and resources integrating, customising and maintaining complex IT systems, or they can focus all their capital and talent on becoming a market leader through e-business,” says Ayman Abouseif, marketing director for Oracle, Middle East and Africa. “Oracle OpenWorld at Gitex will demonstrate first-hand how to make the right e-business decisions," he adds.

Decision-makers visiting Oracle OpenWorld at Gitex will receive one-on-one live demonstrations of Oracle's key e-business offerings, including the Oracle E-Business Suite 11i, which includes components for customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), supply chain, Internet procurement, human resources management systems (HRMS), and business intelligence.

Those of a more technical bent will be given the opportunity to experiment with Oracle's Internet-based technology platform, including the newly launched Oracle9i database, Oracle9i Application Server, and suite of application development tools.

Attendees can also learn how to build Internet portals and develop wireless applications while seeing how simple it is to switch from SQL Server, Informix or Sybase to the Oracle 9i database.
