IBM will be showcasing its latest WebSphere developments at this year's Gitex.

Targeted at organisations of all sizes, IBM claims that the latest version of WebSphere offers an end-to-end, integrated e-commerce set of features that seamlessly link to your existing systems.
The solution is already being used by Middle Eastern companies such as jufallimall.com as well as four of the leading banks in Saudi Arabia.

"It provides reliability, and most importantly scalability and ease of development… but the most important aspect is the powerful back office integration that is available," says Dr. Jamil El-Imad, IT general manager at E. A. Juffali & Brothers.

"We want WebSphere to become the industry standard. This is why the infrastructure software now includes comprehensive support for open Internet standards," adds IBM’s Bashar Kilani.

In addition to WebSphere, version seven of DB2 will also be displayed on stand, with visitors able to see its wide range of features including business intelligence, data management, and e-business capabilities.

The company's Lotus collaboration and e-learning software and Tivoli's system management software are also set to make an appearance.

"We will also be displaying the latest Lotus e-learning solutions and up-to-the-minute versions of Notes. Visitors to our stand at Gitex will see the full range of IBM's software for e-business infrastructure deployed in real-life situations," says Tamsin Miles, marketing manager, IBM Software Middle East.
