Comtrust preaches IT security

Comtrust will be telling businesses at Gitex that if they do not take action to ensure secure online transactions then they will be left behind in the wake of the e-commerce wave.

Comtrust will be telling businesses at Gitex that if they do not take action to ensure secure online transactions then they will be left behind in the wake of the e-commerce wave.

The company claims that the fear that credit card details will be tampered with or misused, coupled with the fear of identifying the credibility of the online organisation, causes over 56% of Internet users to be deterred from buying online. At the other end of the business chain, it says, organisations are being held back from e-commerce by the fear of false claims from buyers.

"In order for e-commerce to take off, everyone needs to know who is making the transaction in order to help build the trust chain. This is where we as Comtrust can assist online buyers and e-businesses to strengthen their online business," says Farooq Hasan, marketing manager for Comtrust.

At Gitex, Comtrust will be demonstrating its range of 128-bit encryption PKI services, user certificates and its recently announced business user certificate. In addition to these offerings, the company will be pushing its real time online payment transaction authorisation solutions that are designed specifically for the local market.
