Cisco has promised to invest $10 million in its recently opened Levant headquarters in Beirut.
Cisco has promised to invest $10 million in its recently opened Levant headquarters in Beirut. The company will invest in human resources, infrastructure, equipment and training as is looks to step up its presence within the region.
“Lebanon has the ability to become a major technology exporter: it has the skills, the business savvy, and the entrepreneurial spirit,” says Mohamad Abdul-Malak, regional manager for Cisco Systems in the Levant.
“Both public and private sector organisations need to re-examine their information technology systems, and find how to use them to make their organisations more competitive and effective, and to potentially create new ways of doing business. I believe Cisco and its partners have a lot to offer in helping organisations look at technology in an entirely new light,” he adds.
Cisco has been present in Lebanon for three years as a small representative sales office. However, phenomenal growth rates of 160% have encouraged the company to establish a permanent home for its ten full-time staff.
