As part of an initiative to update its entire IT infrastructure and procurement strategy, the Juma Al Majid Group has signed a comprehensive deal to buy and sell through B-2-B marketplace, Tejari.com. The Juma Al Majid Group will use Tejari to centralise procurement of goods and services for its businesses throughout the GCC, while selling to Dubai government departments and other clients through Tejari’s online marketplace.

“Several key factors convinced the Juma Al Majid group to join Tejari.com, including the impressive number and scope of current members, the leading-edge infrastructure, and the opportunity to streamline our procurement cycle,” said Jawad Abu Farha, IT director, Juma Al Majid Group. “As a new Tejari member, the Juma Al Majid Group hopes to widen its exposure beyond the Middle East, and interact with global traders through the Tejari marketplace,” he added.

The second phase of the Juma Al Majid Group’s participation within Tejari will be to integrate the Group’s ERP (enterprise resource planning) solution with the online marketplace. This integration is hoped to streamline the Juma Al Majid Group’s buying cycle and enable it to collaborate more effectively with its trading partners.

“The Juma Al Majid Group is one of the region’s most diverse and respected trading organisations, and Tejari’s members will welcome the opportunity to procure the Group’s goods and services online,” commented Lubna Al Qasimi, Managing Director of Tejari.com. “Utilising Tejari as the e-commerce component of an integrated IT strategy will enable to the Group to maximise its efficiencies, reduce its paperwork and cut procurement costs,” she added.
