HP’s storage division is striving, with 60% revenue growth in its XP storage business, and predictions that its high end machines will also top 60% growth for the latter half of the year. The vendor says it will also be investing in “hundreds” of new staff to keep pace with the increasing demand.

“I think we can continue to grow at 60%,” said Nora Denzel, vice president of network storage, HP. “I definitely think we can sustain the momentum.”

Denzel added that the influx of staff would be targeted towards the sales and service departments.

HP has shipped more than $1 billion of storage products since signing with Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), following its May 1999 split with EMC.

EMC remains top of the storage market with 20% of the market share.
