Veritas opens for business in DIC

Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi has opened Veritas new office in Dubai Internet City, as the storage solutions provider continues to expand in the Middle East.

Veritas has officially opened its regional office in Dubai Internet City. The office, which will serve the Middle East and North Africa region, and includes training facilities, was opened by Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, managing director of Tejari.com, and Lindsey Armstrong, vice president of Veritas EMEA.

David Beck, regional manager, Veritas MENA, said: “I am delighted to have such prestigious guests attending the opening of our new regional office. Added to our location in the impressive technological centre of the Middle East, the presence of such significant IT personalities reflects the position that Veritas has in this market.”

The office will house Veritas sales, technical, marketing, consulting and account management teams, as well as offering customised facilities for training for customers and partners. The company also plans to fit a full SAN lab in the office, as part of its ongoing education program.

“Education is very important,” said Beck. “We need to just basically raise the awareness of the customer out there, raise the awareness of what technology is available, how they can do things differently, and how that would benefit them.”
