Dubai airport hatches big plans

Sheikh Ahmed announces exhibition offering airport suppliers a platform to meet project decision-makers, and showcase products, services and technologies.

A forthcoming exhibition will highlight the government of Dubai’s ongoing plans to invest a staggering $1.4 billion in the development of its airport. The Airport Build & Supply Exhibition will run May 28-30 at Airport Expo Dubai and will feature suppliers of a wide range of equipment and services.

The show takes place under the patronage of H.H.Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of the Government of Dubai’s Department of Civil Aviation.

“We have prepared a blueprint that will secure Dubai International Airport’s status as one of the world’s most sophisticated gateways of the 21st century,” said Sheikh Ahmed.

“The exhibition will provide participating companies with a unique platform to meet project decision-makers and showcase their products, services and technologies. In addition, the Department of Civil Aviation and our appointed consultants will schedule private meetings with exhibitors during the event to discuss design, construction, and supply requirements.”

Visitors to the exhibition will include officials from other airports across the Middle East where major expansion and construction is taking place. Projects are underway, or planned, in KSA, Egypt, Libya, Oman, Doha, Tunisia and Abu Dhabi.

The event is organised by Streamline Marketing. “A huge amount of airport development is under way, not only in Dubai, but across the region, making participation at the exhibition essential for suppliers of equipment and services needed by airports,” said Joanne Evans, director of Streamline Marketing.
