Dubai Municipality has launched a feasibility study into the development of a mega leisure park in the Zabeel area near the Trade Centre. News of the study was revealed by Qassim Sultan, director general, Dubai Municipality, when he opened the Theme Parks & Fun Centres (TPFC) trade show. TPFC will run at the Dubai World Trade Centre until Thursday night.

“Within the next year, we will open four new neighbourhood parks and will work towards staging the official opening of the new Dhs80 million Children’s City in the Creek Park during next year’s Dubai Shopping Festival,” said Sultan.

Sultan urged private sector investors to visit the show and said the Municipality plans to work closely with the private sector to increase its involvement in the Dubai leisure sector.

“We want the private sector more involved in the development and running of leisure facilities,” said Sultan.

Exhibiting at the show are companies from Argentina, South Africa, China and Sweden.

“Show organisers are expanding the reach of their exhibitor profile which is opening up new horizons for Dubai and spreading news of the emirate further,” said Sultan.
