Mohamed El-Zohairy, the winner of Arabian Business.com’s Young E-Achiever of the Year Award for 2000, has gone on to achieve more great things.
El-Zohairy enjoyed the weekend of March 17-19 this year with 70 other talented teens in Geneva, Switzerland. El-Zohairy, along with Helen Cheng and Emily Boyd, was there as a member of one of 25 Award winning teams in this year’s ThinkQuest Awards Ceremony.
ThinkQuest is a not-for-profit educational initiative, open to teams of students, ages 12 to 19, who work together to create educational Web sites. These collaborative efforts are designed to foster creativity, friendships and life-long skills.
Entrants this year were from places as far apart as Kaoshsiung, Taiwan, Tucson, Arizona, Baku, Azerbaijan and Buenos Aires, Argentina. The competition is a compelling reminder of the way in which the Internet is making international borders irrelevant, and bringing the youth of the world closer together.
The 70 talented teens spent some of their time on Switzerland at CERN (The European Organisation for Nuclear Research) in Geneva, Switzerland. The students stayed at the opulent NogaHilton in Geneva, Switzerland.
