ArabTel launches web tracking for fleet cars
Wireless vehicle location system allows fleet managers to track cars over the Internet, as well as supplying navigation information and traffic reports.
ArabTel has launched a wireless vehicle location services portal, making it the first network operator in the Middle East to provide tracking facilities for fleets and vehicle owners accessible through any Internet enabled PC.
ArabTel’s Location Services Portal is powered by WebTech and will provide fleet managers and private vehicle owners with vehicle tracking services through the web. This is designed to eliminate the cost of a dedicated Internet connection or managing complex servers on-site.
The portal supplies the user with real-time vehicle tracking services along with other location services such as two-way text messaging, navigation, traffic alerts and a city search.
“WebTech’s end-to-end system eliminates many of the traditional management and access costs we witnessed in solutions we evaluated,” said Hisham Akbar, deputy general manager at ArabTel.
“Our goal was to offer our customers an innovative tracking service that was easy to access. Our new location services portal achieves this goal as it is accessible anytime, anywhere.”
WebTech’s wireless end-to-end vehicle location system promises to provide cellular and satellite network operators, wireless dealers and corporations with vehicle tracking and location services for servicing commercial fleets and private vehicle owners.
“Our system is web-based and greatly reduces the cost and time involved in deploying and managing vehicle location services for service providers,” said Anwar Sukkarie, president and chief executive officer at WebTech Wireless.
“The location services portal is just one facet of Quadrant, our end-to-end system, which also boasts a very simple vehicle tracking device installation.”
