Al Futtaim Travel sends flights into cyberspace

Travellers in the UAE can now book their hotels, flights and car hire online at Al Futtaim Travel's new Internet travel agency.

Al Futtaim Travel has taken its travel agency online. www.access2travel.com uses the Travelpoint.com online booking system from Galileo to allow customers to handle all their travel requirements online including buying airline tickets, booking hotels and hiring cars.

Al Futtaim Travel is promising that the Web site will have unique special offers that will give customers to book online rather than through its offices.

“I am confident that with the introduction of this on-line sales channel this will change the face of the travel industry in the region. Many on-line users will be keen to book their holidays on their own and at the time most convenient for them,” said Marie Anne Benedetti, manager, Al-Futtaim Travel.

Travelpoint.com is an integrated solution that allows customers to check availability and reserve a tailor-made travel package. Travelpoint.com offers you a choice of over 500 airlines, 45 car rental companies and 30,000 hotels worldwide.

Once a booking is received Al-Futtaim Travel will either deliver the tickets direct to the customer or alternatively, if more convenient they can be collected. Payment can be made by credit card, bank draft or cash upon collection.
