Driving e-business event kicks-off on Sunday

The combined expertise of Lucent, iPlanet and Sun will give delegates an insight into the driving forces behind e-business. Come inside for last minute registration.

Lucent Technologies, in conjunction with Sun Microsystems and iPlanet, is presenting its 'Driving e-Business' seminar tour on Sunday at the JW Marriott Hotel, Dubai. Last minute registrations can be made here on ITP.net.

The seminars will focus on the evolving ASP ecosystem, the emergence of the CyberCarrier and the importance of partnerships in this new value chain. Both technical and business-oriented sessions are being run.

Lucent will reveal the market trends and opportunities in the 'Economy of Light' - the new information and communications frontier.

The strategic partnership between Lucent and Sun/iPlanet is designed to provide new products and services that will spur the growth and effectiveness of e-business.

The companies have allied together to create the infrastructure necessary for service providers and enterprises to support next-generation e-business and media-rich applications.

The 'Driving e-Business' seminar will present the solutions that enable service providers to set up scalable, secure, high-availability CyberCentres, which will host network-based applications for small and mid-sized businesses.

In addition to managing secure IP services, the new CyberCarriers will be able to offer Quality of Service (QoS) guarantees and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Commenting on the 'Driving e-business' seminar, Chris Lee, Managing Director, WAN Systems Group at Lucent Technologies, said: "As the ASP model is gaining acceptance and the CyberCarrier community is evolving, Lucent is addressing the issues of Quality of Service (QoS), security and reliability by delivering and supporting an intelligent end-to-end platform.

"We believe that a successful ASP model is dependent on partnerships and we are demonstrating this through our own strategic partnership with Sun/iPlanet. Together, we are able to deliver new, powerful applications and solutions to build the e-business infrastructure necessary for the new Economy of Light."
