Sun offers new service delivery model for UAE, KSA and Egypt

Sun Microsystems Support Services, Middle East, is to standardise and manage service delivery directly.

Sun Microsystems Support Services, Middle East, is to standardise and manage service delivery, set support pricing and discount structures in the UAE, KSA and Egypt through a new direct service delivery model.

The new direction also involves the transition of Service Partners to new support partnership programmes - Sun ServiceManager, Sun ServiceRepresentative and Sun ServiceAssociate.

"Sun is driving down the total cost of ownership to our end-users by leveraging from our global resources and optimising our personnel, logistics and technical resources to complement, not duplicate, those of the channel and the end-user," said Brian Perrins, regional manager, Support Services, Sun MEA.

Sun believes that to stay in business, all enterprises must reinvent their route to market via the Internet and that for many, this will become the sole channel.

"Increased dependence on technology brings with it new challenges, and requires new thinking. The IT support industry must respond to these challenges by delivering uptime on a global basis, and to do this means new business models and a new paradigm in support delivery," said Perrins.
