Momentum mounts for launch of MobileCom

100,000 people grab MobileCom Ahlan gift vouchers, which give subscribers 1 hour free talktime per month until 2002

Momentum is mounting for MobileCom’s GSM service, which goes live in Jordan on September 15.

The company has announced that over 100,000 people have signed-up for a promotion that gives away one free hour of talk-time per month to customers that open a MobileCom GSM account. The public can take advantage of the promotion, dubbed the Ahlan gift offer, by visiting MobileCom at the MexCom 2000 exhibition before September 8, or by applying online at: jordan.arabia.com.

People that present an Ahlan gift certificate when they sign-up for a MobileCom connection will get the free hour of talk-time every month until 2002.

“We want to thank the 100,000 plus Jordanians who have already registered for Ahlan, as this shows that Jordanians are eager to start benefiting from new value GSM communications,” said Jean-Luc Vuillemin, CEO of MobileCom.

“MobileCom’s commitment is simple: providing Jordanians with new value in terms of quality, service and price. Our Ahlan gift is a first step in showing Jordanians we stand by our commitment as MobileCom prepares to put GSM capabilities within the hands of a much larger portion of the Jordanian population,” Vuillemin added.
