Tourism industry fuelling hotel development across UAE
The east coast of the United Arab Emirates can look forward to the unveiling of a major chain hotel resort in the summer of next year amidst blossoming tourism in the country.
Le Meridien hotels are planning to capitalize on the burgeoning success of the tourism industry in Dubai by expanding development on the east coast of the UAE.
With a new Le Meridien hotel set to open in Fujairah next summer, Russel Sharpe, senior vice-president, Middle East and West Asia, Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts, is looking forward to a successful venture as this year the UAE has enjoyed increased business over the summer months.
“Our hotels in the United Arab Emirates – in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Jumeira Beach – have recorded a 16% increase in business in the first quarter and we are finding that the previous summer slump is a thing of the past,” he said.
“While demand for Dubai is escalating, with the French, Austrian and German markets booming, we anticipate a similar response to a new sun, sea and sand product in Fujairah.”
