Sun hope to shine with new business model

New support partnership programmes will be available in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt after Sun Microsystems announced a new delivery service model.

Sun Microsystems Services, Middle East, has announced a new direct service delivery model and the transition of Service Partners to new support partnership programmes in the UAE, KSA and Egypt.

Sun can now offer globally consistent support programmes and is able to deliver features such as remote systems monitoring, on-site engineering support and system availability guarantees.

“In the Middle East, Sun Microsystems Support Services has made significant investment towards providing a global uptime solution to our partners and customers,” said Brian Perris, regional manager, support services, Middle East and Africa. “We are now able to offer direct support in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.”

Perrins believes that enterprises must reinvent their route to market via the Internet in order to stay in business.

He said: “Increased dependence on technology brings with it new challenges, and requires new thinking, especially when it comes to delivering uninterrupted business processes.

"The IT support industry must respond to these challenges by delivering uptime on a global basis, and to do this means new business models and a new paradigm in support delivery.”
