Microsoft lays first building blocks for DIC offices

Office will house the entire staff of Microsoft Gulf and Eastern Mediterranean, as well as some Arabic developers.

Microsoft laid the first bricks for its purpose built headquarters at Dubai Internet City yesterday.

The office will house the entire existing staff of Microsoft Gulf & Eastern Mediterranean as well as additional staff attached to Arabic software beta testing programmes.

The Dubai Internet City site is nearing completion and is well on course for its opening at the end of October. Buildings in the Dubai Media City area and the Dubai Internet City area are at their full height and windows and other fittings are being added.

Dubai Media City and Dubai Internet City border the American University of Dubai, although DIC officials have stated that AUD is not going to be the Internet University that was mentioned at the original unveiling of the City strategy last year.
