Jordan’s value GSM operator, MobileCom announced the three-digits of the dialing prefix for its GSM mobile lines this month: ‘077’.

Callers to MobileCom GSM customers will dial the new ‘077’ prefix before dialing the actual mobile line to reach the person they are trying to call.

“MobileCom has been awarded the use of the ‘077’ prefix by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) for dialing into the MobileCom GSM network,” said Jean-Luc Vuillemin, CEO of MobileCom.

“The number seven has always been considered a lucky number, so having a double seven in the prefix should provide twice the luck for our customers!”

Lucky Number

Callers wanting to place a call from a fixed line to a MobileCom subscriber will have to dial ‘077’ as the prefix before the MobileCom number of the person they are trying to reach.

Callers from overseas will be able to dial the MobileCom subscriber they wish to speak to by dialing the Jordan country code followed by the prefix: +962 77.

“We are very excited to launch the new GSM service in Jordan. MobileCom is building its network today: radio base stations are being deployed, network switches are being installed and the months of hard work on planning are now being turned into the biggest single GSM network buildout project which Jordan has ever seen,” said Vuillemin.

MobileCom is the new value Jordanian public mobile telephone network operator, and is the operator of the mobile communications license granted to Jordan Telecom.
