AUC celebrates new breed of TV journalist

Graduates of the course have gone onto to do critical jobs with some of the Middle East's top broadcasters and now, with its latest recruit securely on board at Dubai Business Channel as manager of production, the staff and management can boast that the training is proving to be a success for the Adham centre but also for the TV stations that benefit from these graduates.

"TV field reporting is expensive," Abdullah Schleifer director, Adham Centre for Television journalism, told digital studio.

"It is also an acquired art. We at the Adham Centre for Television Journalism are proud that over the past decade we have been able to train a small but serious cadre of young Arab journalists in this art. Tamer Abdelaal was signed on by Dubai Business Channel recently as their new manager of production. Yusri Fouda of is a graduate of the Centre, as is Lamis Hadidi, Al Jazeera business correspondent and managing editor of Alam Al Youm.

"Hani Koneisy, formerly one of the few Arabic language reporters with BBC Arabic TV service, and then an anchor with Abu Dhabi TV is now responsible in London for AP-TN intensive regional coverage. APTN's Nairobi bureau chief and Adham Centre graduate Khalid Kazihah covered East Africa for the world."
