Focus reaches out to help small firms

Focus Reach — a business accounting solution designed specifically for small businesses and small office home office (SOHO) users — was unveiled at Gitex by specialist sofware supplier Focus Softnet.

The solution comes with a number of features and tools designed specifically to meet the needs of those customers, with its modules covering every aspect of an organisation’s operations, including Financials, Sales, Inventory, Purchase, Job Costing, Production, Payroll and Cheque Management.

“Focus has had tremendous success over the last few years with the businesses in the Middle East, especially the enterprise and SMB [small and medium-sized business] segments,” said Ali Hyder, CEO of Focus Softnet, in a statement.

“Our solutions, such as the Focus RT, Focus 5 and 6, have established us as a vendor who is focused on customer needs and as one whose products help in improving overall productivity and efficiency while offering better TCO [total cost of ownership],” Hyder claimed.

“With Focus Reach we are taking this one step further. Our vision with the product is to offer a latest and state-of-the-art solution that addresses the SOHO needs, taking the process view of an organisation to meet the company's goals while tightly integrating all functions,” he added.

Focus Reach includes several tools that have been incorporated to give companies greater flexibility and efficiency in the everyday running of the business. These tools include document designer, report customisation, user level security, filter report and work flow definition.

“Focus Reach has several other features that makes it an ideal fit for small businesses as they grow in the region,” Hyder said.

Some of these include multi- company consolidating, location warehousing, multi-department, cost centre, region sales manag- ement and currency, bank recon (BRS), sales module, purchase module, job costing, expiry- based reports, passport, visa, and batch control, Hyder added.

Focus Reach can be used by businesses in several industries, particularly trading, manufacturing and service industries, for firms that require a fully- fledged package that offers them accounting, job costing, stock control, purchase, sales, order management, production and payroll functions.

Hyder explained that the solution would be made available to customers through an indirect sales model and that it would be marketed through distributors and the firm’s reseller network as the product is ready to use.

“Keeping in mind the specific qualities and requirements of the small business as well as the fashion of the product, Focus is on the lookout for distributors and resellers who can help grow the product to its full potential. The company is looking for channel partners who have been in the line of dealing with computer hardware or software,” Hyder went on to say.
