RAK uses TopAir OS solution

RAK Airways is to automate its operations using a solution from TopAir.

The national airline of Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates has deployed Avient Solutions’ TopAir flight operations system — a solution that will automate aspects of its operations including flight scheduling, fleet planning, crew management, and flight operations.

RAK Airways is the UAE’s fourth national carrier and will start its operations in Q1 of 2007. It will serve regional destinations to the Indian sub-continent and the Middle East initially with charter services to Europe for leisure traffic.

“RAK Airways selected TopAir as it offers a full range of functionality in a user friendly package,” said Captain Jim Feeny, RAK Airways’ vice president of flight operations.

“As a start-up carrier, RAK Airways’ flight operations department must be able to focus on the business of flying aircraft, supported by the operational system. TopAir will allow us to do this and we expect it to become an integral tool in our operation,” he added.

As well as automating its flight operations, the TopAir solution is designed to provide employees of the airline with real time information across its various departments.
