Bahrani distributor comes up trumps at OKI conference

Local electronics distributor picks up award at regional channel conference for its part in winning Bahraini market share for printing manufacturer during 18-year partnership

OKI has honoured a long-serving Bahrainbased distributor by naming it the most “outstanding” distributor of the year.

Fakhro Electronics — distributors of OKI products in Bahrain since 1988 — was presented the award at a recent distributor conference in Crete for OKI Europe’s Eastern Region.

Over 60 OKI distributors attended the conference from all over Eastern Europe, Central Europe, Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa, and South East Asia.

Fakhro was singled out for the ‘commendable contribution’ it had made towards increasing the vendor’s market share in Bahrain during the last 18 years and given a certificate for being OKI’s ‘Outstanding Distributor for 2005-06’.

Alfredo D’Souza, general manager, office automation and IT products at Fakhro, said: “One of the main reasons for our consistent successful performance is that we at Fakhro invest an incredible amount of time in building relationships with our valued customers, keeping in mind OKI’s original motto ‘People to People Technology’ and we are indeed ‘The Business Solutions Specialists in Bahrain,’” he added.

John Ross, Middle East general manager at OKI, said: “OKI aims to be the number one business printing solutions provider in the world and we are very proud of FE for helping us to continually achieve this goal in Bahrain.”

Fakhro Electronics, which is part of the Abdulla Yousif Fakhro Group, is one of Bahrain’s largest suppliers of consumer devices and office automation products in Bahrain.

The OKI award caps a busy year for the company.

Back in the summer it became the franchisee for IT retailer CompuMe in Bahrain and revealed that it plans to open two more stores within the next year.

The company was also named the sole authorised distributor for Sony Ericsson mobiles in Bahrain and is qualified to provide aftersales support.
