Jordan unblocks Skype website

The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission in Jordan has unblocked Skype’s popular voice over internet protocol (VoIP) website, one month after it banned the site citing security concerns.

Al Ansari Al Mashaqbah, director of the commission’s regulatory department, confirmed this month to The Jordan Times that the security issues that led to the site’s blocking had now been resolved.

According to several Jordanian bloggers, Skype’s VoIP service continued to be available during the site’s month-long ban.
